Veterans
Dekalb County is the proud home of over 5,000 veterans, in addition to many active-duty members, reserve members, and military civilian employees. District 90 owes it to these individuals who have offered brave services to the county to honor promises, show support, and serve them after the transition out of service. Stewart is committed to create an environment where every veteran can succeed in civilian life.
As a member of the Georgia House of Representatives, Stewart will:
- Make district 90 a place where veteran homelessness is eliminated;
- Fight to protect military bases from closure;
- Foster those important transitions from service to school and/or career;
- Rise to the challenge of supporting veterans in district 90; and
- Bolster community based mental health service for returning veterans and their families.
