Energy and Healthy Environment
Stewart Parnacott has a steadfast commitment to protecting Georgia’s water, soil, air and coasts from environmental damage. As a Georgia House of Representatives member from district 90, Stewart will support bipartisan legislation to ensure Georgia competes in the green economy and champion policies that specifically take aim at climate change. Having the good fortune to live in a state that is blessed with bountiful natural resources, Stewart is committed to protecting these backdrops that serve as the nucleus of Georgia’s economic well-being.
As a member of the Georgia House of Representatives, Stewart will:
- Invest in solar energy and other sustainable forms of energy to decrease reliance on fossil fuels and expand Georgia’s restrictive net metering system;
- Protect the district’s pine canopy and prevent clearcutting for new development;
- Oppose fracking and the expansion of Plant Vogtle; and
- Work to bring sustainable jobs and necessitate that no industries in District 90 disproportionately affect low income communities or persons of color.
